If you’ve been saving Poké Balls and stardust boosters for a good three-hour window, this is one worth clearing your schedule for — Nickit’s evolution, Thievul, has been a surprisingly strong budget pick in Great League for a while, and this event is your best shot at a high-IV one with an exclusive attack.

Community Day bonuses

During the event window, expect the standard Community Day bonus package layered on top of Nickit-specific perks:

Shiny Nickit will be appearing at a boosted rate throughout the event, with community trackers estimating roughly a 1-in-20 (5%) encounter rate — considerably higher than a standard wild encounter, but still worth checking every single one you catch before moving on, since shiny checking isn’t automatic in dense spawns.

How to get the exclusive move

The real prize of any Community Day is the exclusive Charged Attack, and this month it’s Icy Wind on Thievul. To get it, evolve a Nickit into Thievul during the event window, or within four hours after it ends. That grace period matters: if you’re still grinding candy at 4:55 p.m., you don’t need to panic-evolve everything in the last five minutes.

Icy Wind gives Thievul a Dark/Ice-style coverage option it didn’t have before, which is meaningful because Thievul’s base kit otherwise leans heavily Dark-type. Whether it cracks the current Great League meta remains to be seen once trainers get a chance to test it in the Battle League, but it’s a reasonable investment if you already like playing budget Dark-types.
