Featured Pokémon and Shiny
Phantump gets increased wild spawns for the event, along with an increased Shiny rate. Cherubi and Drifloon also get increased wild spawns during the event window, both with their own increased Shiny chance — worth keeping an eye out for even if Phantump is your main target.
Throw Bonus
The core Catch Mastery bonus applies for the full event: 2× XP and increased Candy for any catch landed with a Nice Throw or better. Curveballs and Excellent Throws stack on top of the base Nice Throw requirement the same way they normally do, so this is a good day to slow down and aim rather than catch on autopilot.

A free Timed Research line focused on catching Phantump is available during the event, rewarding encounters plus XP and Stardust. A separate paid Timed Research ticket ($1.99) adds additional Phantump encounters on top of the free line.

Event Tips
- Take the extra half-second on each throw — missing a Nice Throw costs you the event’s entire XP and Candy bonus on that catch, not just a small amount of accuracy.
- Complete the free Timed Research early since it’s built entirely around catching the featured Pokémon, which will be far more common during the event window than after it ends.
- Don’t ignore Cherubi and Drifloon spawns — their increased Shiny rates run alongside Phantump’s for the same ten hours.
