Pokémon GO PvP Hub: Leagues, Meta Reports and Cups
The GO Battle League is Pokémon GO’s ranked PvP mode, and every league has a different CP cap, which changes which Pokémon are worth building. This hub gathers our PvP guides: how the leagues compare, what is strong in each one, how the season works, and the cups that restrict your choices. Build your team with the tools below, and read the league comparison first if you are new to PvP.

Frequently asked questions
What are the CP limits of the leagues?
Great League is capped at 1,500 CP, Ultra League at 2,500 CP, and Master League has no cap.
How many Protect Shields do I get?
Two per battle, and you can switch Pokémon once every 60 seconds.
Is a 100% IV Pokémon always best in PvP?
No. In the capped leagues the best spread usually favours bulk over Attack, because the CP limit rewards it. Without a cap, as in Master League, high IVs matter most.
